Another £220.

. Recently I had an alarm on my BMW warning me of an underinflated tyre. I inflated it to the correct pressure and then did a journey on the motorways. A day later the same warning came up and I found that the same front tyre was again at low pressure. I took the car to a garage in Billinghay and they found a bulge in the side wall and a leak from the rim. I am replacing the tyre this week at a cost of £220. Perhaps I am lucky in that the tyre didn't give way at motorway speeds. The roads are dreadful around the Woodhall Spa area of Lincolnshire and I'm sure I know exactly when the tyre was damaged. In November I was travelling through Leadenham on the High Street early one morning whilst it was dark. I hit a pot hole with my front wheel and it felt like it had taken the wheel off. I checked around the car at my first opportunity but couldn't see any obvious damage but it obviously had damaged the integrity of the sidewall. It is just like living in a third world country. For motorcyclists it is life threatening.
