Saddleback Road, Skidbrooke

I live at the east end of Saddleback Road so it is a regular road used by both myself and my family. The road is in such bad repair with so many potholes and a huge ridge running along the majority of the middle section of the road.

A recent RTA happened whereby a vehicle was found in the dyke on its roof. It is not a surprise as the road is humped so much in the middle you feel like you are tipping into the ditch especially if you have to give way to an oncoming vehicle.

The farmers use this road with extremely heavy tractors, trailers, combine harvesters etc - much too much weight for the old road design. Also sited around half way down Saddleback Road is Angus Energy who regularly have HGV's up and down also which does not help. They were not built for these vehicles hence why they are subsiding into the ditches with a huge hump in the middle.

At one point last year there were over 60 pot holes filled as it was, in parts, in passable. These were temporary repairs.

We run a small 5 caravan campsite business but we have to send our guests on a 5 mile detour so as to avoid the majority of Saddleback Road. It is not fit for any vehicle towing a caravan.
