BETTER NEIGHBOURS ?

Why are the roads in neighbouring rural counties so much better than those in Lincolnshire. I drive regularly along as route that takes me through a part of Rutland - you can tell at once when you cross the county boundary as the Rutland roads are so much smoother and better maintained - no potholes, for a start. Ditto Norfolk - the contrast with Lincolnshire's disintegrating roads is stark. Even Leicestershire roads are not quite so bad.

Difficulties for road users

There are many roads in Lincolnshire which need attention, and I do understanding the financial difficulties of the council, and where they need to prioritise the money they have. The Government seem to expect the councils to do more and more with less and less money, however there are roads that need attention, such as Martin village, Church Road run off just before the bridge, leading to Churchill Drive. I also cannot understand the need for a 40mph speed limit on Martin South Drove, when that road is significantly better than many others with a higher speed limit.
