by Jess, about 1 year agoThis year I plan to make more time for my family and get outside more. I’ve already dragged my family on trips to the cathedral and the castle and I want to get them on some long walks, we live in Grantham so hoping to find some nice sites to see.

What better way to start the year with a Railway Ramble…Catching the train to Sleaford from Metheringham to walk back via the Spires and Steeples route.

by Karmen , about 1 year agoI have always been scared of running as I was never good at it as a young person and then I decided to give it a go last year and managed to run three 10 k races. I progressed well in a short time. Unfortunately, training slowed down at the end of last summer due to my responsibilities taking over and I struggled to find time.

I have always been scared of running as I was never good at it as a young person and then I decided to give it a go last year and managed to run three 10 k races. I progressed well in a short time. Unfortunately, training slowed down at the end of last summer due to my responsibilities taking over and I struggled to find time.
I see 2025 as an opportunity for a fresh start to get back on track therefore I have decided to run my first Half Marathon in March 2025. Luckily, I have a good friend who is dedicated runner and is going to support me. I would also like to start with healthier eating and lifestyle again.
Last year, I was successful at securing a Senior position in my team and I would like to attend as much training as possible and also expand my managerial skills. I look forward at working with my team and alongside my manager to gain additional experience. I would also like to see other parts of the County Council so hopefully I will get some opportunities to work alongside other Senior members of staff in different departments.
In my free time, I also enjoy baking and I frequently bake birthday cakes for family and friends. I look forward to make many more this year.

This year, I resolve to nurture my creative spirit and let go of unnecessary worries.
Whether it's painting, writing, music, or any other form of art, I will dedicate time to explore and develop my creative passions.
I will remind myself that creativity is about the process, not perfection, and learn from mistakes without self-criticism and incorporate mindfulness practices into my routine to help manage stress and stay present. 100% will surround myself with people, places, and things that inspire me.

Thumbs up to everyone working hard to quit, cut back, or take a break from alcohol!
I have been alcohol-free for a while, and my goal for 2025 is to remain this way. Do I feel better? Absolutely. Quitting drinking has been the best thing I've ever done for myself. I've saved money to invest in my future, gained time to spend with loved ones, learned to prioritize myself, and found clarity and peace in my life.
While there's always room for growth, I no longer seek to escape my life. For the first time, I've genuinely accepted that alcohol... Continue reading
