We asked

We asked groups representing people who use public rights of way what they thought our priorities should be. We drafted a strategy based on:

  • that feedback
  • local data
  • existing policies and budgets

We then asked the same groups and the public what they thought about the strategy.

You said

Over half of the respondents used rights of way and one third were members of the public. A further 9% of responses came from town and parish councils and 3% were landowners. Almost three quarters of respondents agreed that the strategy was right.

The most common areas of focus were:

  • accessibility
  • maintenance
  • engagement

We did

  • seek and get strategy approval from councillors who considered your views
  • added rights of way reporting to FixMyStreet
  • using FixMyStreet makes managing maintenance and engaging with us easier
