The engagement has concluded
A decision has been made.
The proposal for Sutton on Sea has been rejected. 449 people completed the online survey, and the feedback was clear. 26% supported the changes and 71% voted against them.
Most of the respondents, believed the government (both local and national) should encourage cycling and walking. They also felt they should encourage shorter car trips to be swapped for active modes.
Lincolnshire County Council has been awarded £799,000 of capital and revenue funding to support active travel projects as part of the Active Travel Fund.
Following the engagement exercise that took place last year and further engagement with local stakeholders we are now looking for your views on a second phase of projects.
The project below is one of five proposed to be implemented through an Experimental Traffic Order. This means that the proposal will act as trial for a period of 12-18 months and for the first 6 months we can continue to receive feedback and adjust as necessary. Sympathetic materials will be used to deliver each project.
In order for the project to move forward broad support needs to be demonstrated. At this stage all proposals are in draft, and we are seeking public feedback before proceeding further.
This engagement is now closed, thank you for taking part. We will continue to use this site to keep you informed about progress with the project.

Thank you for accessing the Active Travel Fund survey.
The proposed scheme would create a circular, one-way loop on High Street and Broadway to encourage cycling as a method of transport. New temporary cycle lanes will be created in the town centre, as well as reallocating space on one-way roads. Planters, traffic wands, and other quality infrastructure will be used to ensure the appropriate visual aesthetic.
The survey is split into two parts, firstly there is a general attitudes survey on transport then there is a brief second section for you to comment on the proposed scheme. The survey will remain live until 17th December 2021.
As this survey is intended to be anonymous, please do not to include any personal or sensitive information in your ‘open text’ responses. If you would like to look further at our privacy policies please click on this link Transport and infrastructure – Lincolnshire County Council.
