As a parish council we have been trying to get the potholes fixed on this road in South Willingham for some considerable time and certainly for over a year. We have knowledge of a jogger falling and seriously banging his head and cutting his face as a result of tripping in a pothole. Cars take the turning at the T-junction very wide to avoid the uneven edge of the road only to meet oncoming traffic. The village is used by many cyclists and horse riders who have to pick their route down the road to navigate the very poor road surface putting them in the way of oncoming vehicles, not to mention the bus. Damage to cars is quite possible by drivers not knowing the state of the road and hitting the holes, even at a slowish speed. We are awaiting a more serious accident at any point. We understand that the council has many demands on its funds but without basic road repairs the cost of a serious accident could well outweigh the work to mend a hole.
