    I have been volunteering most Sunday's for ECHO - Lincoln Branch Community Kitchen since Christmas Day 2018.

    ECHO provides a hot 2-course meal, hot and cold drinks, and a cold food bag for ‘laters’ every Sunday. Currently our kitchen is based at Croft Street Community Centre, and we have seen numbers steadily rising to the point that we regularly serve over 70 people each week.

    But its more than just a kitchen serving food. Our volunteer team are reliable, well organised, caring and compassionate, and a great sense of humour is essential! We greet our regulars by name – as... Continue reading

    Good to be out checking footpaths in the Horsington area as a Countryside Volunteer and it’s always good to find when improvements have been done.

    The Public Rights of Way & Access Team would like to thank all our countryside access volunteers across the county.

    We really appreciate all you do:

    * report issues

    * clear vegetation

    * replace waymarkers

    Thank you for being the eyes and ears on the ground. You play a vital role in helping us keep the rights of way network open and easy to use for locals and visitors.

    Thank you for all your time and support.

    We look forward to continue working with you.

    Lincolnshire Chalk Streams Project - Massive thank you to our amazing volunteers!

    A massive thank you from the Lincolnshire Chalk Streams Project to all the wonderful volunteers who help look after and monitor our globally rare chalk streams and blow wells in Lincolnshire.

    Volunteers help to maintain riverbanks, survey aquatic invertebrates, monitor water quality, collect data on the blow wells, help out at events, manage wildlife cameras, tackle invasive species, the list could go on!!

    The Lincolnshire Chalk Streams Project hosted by Lincolnshire County Council could not deliver the work they do to protect, enhance and promote the chalk streams in Lincolnshire without the huge effort and time put in by our... Continue reading

    Schools, Communities, Girlguiding, Charities and the world of Golf!

    by Stacey McNicholas, 11 months ago

    Over the last 16 years, I have spent my spare time supporting a variety of causes. This has included fundraising for charities and raising sponsorship, Classroom Assistant, PE Assistant and delivering sports coaching within schools, Girlguiding Leader, Trustee for a charity supporting children from disadvantaged backgrounds, organising and managing girls golf across Lincolnshire, alongside sitting on my Golf Club Junior Committee and organising lots of provision for children and beginner/learner golfers.

    Volunteering has provided me with invaluable skills and experiences which have enabled me to develop personally and professionally and helped to shape my career pathway. I have thoroughly enjoyed... Continue reading

    40 years volunteering!!?

    by Bex - Girlguiding!, 11 months ago

    40 years a Girlguiding leader, adviser and commissioner too!!

    I just can't believe where time has gone from camping, music festivals, making things, doing this in different places. Helping others complete their qualifications to work with girls from 4 to 18 now - was 5 to 25. Meeting lifelong friends and even going to the Buckingham Palace Garden Party with Queen Elizabeth.

    Countryside Access Volunteer - fresh air and well being

    by Nicola Radford , 11 months ago

    A year ago I signed up to be a Countryside Access Volunteer, I was already walking PPPP DIVA miles a week and we had got stuck in a rut of the same old walks, and moaning about broken finger posts.

    Volunteering not only enabled me to explore new routes and villages around our spectacular county, it also enabled me to fix problems, report barriers and enable other people to access the countryside "problem free"

    The team that run the volunteering are so friendly and helpful, all the tools and maps are provided and they action issues promptly.

    I would really... Continue reading

    Thank you Andy Gutherson! Over 4 years volunteering as an Enterprise Adviser

    by Debbie Boon, 11 months ago

    A huge thank you to Andy Gutherson, Executive Director of Place, who has been supporting young people as an Enterprise Adviser for Caistor Yarbourgh Academy for over four years. Over this time Andy has built up a strong relationship with the Careers Leader at the school and not only has helped to shape the careers strategy, but also given assembly talks and encouraged colleagues from across LCC to get involved with meaningful encounters at the school. From all of us at the Careers Hub, and myself in particular as the Enterprise Coordinator for East and West Lindsey, THANK YOU!

    Celebrating Careers Hub Volunteers

    by Natalie.Poole-5mindw4, 11 months ago
    The Greater Lincolnshire LEP's Careers Hub wishes to thank all of its 200+ volunteers who give up their time to work in Schools and Colleges. They are instrumental in improving careers education for young people across Greater Lincolnshire. Without the support of the businesses and individuals who volunteer their time, schools and colleges would not be able to provide meaningful interactions with the world of work, helping to improve young people's confidence, skills and readiness for the world of work. Thank you to all of our Enterprise Advisers and Give an Hour Volunteers!
