Boston Preservation Trust Civic Group

The Civic Group is under the community umbrella of The Boston Preservation Trust. We normally meet the second Monday of every month at Fydell House and discuss local issues relating to planning, civic pride, heritage and blue plaque amongst other local interests.

Its a great way to get involved in the community, learn what is going on and an opportunity to make a real difference.

I was new to Boston and wanted to join a local group and I am glad I did. I quickly got to know the town centre and its rich heritage, was involved in identifying all the local heritage plaques, producing a leaflet and updating our website. When my friends come to visit I give them a tour of Boston and they are always impressed.

Annually we organise The Pride of Boston Awards and I love walking around the town, looking at its architecture and recognising those businesses who take pride in Boston. This year we worked with other groups within the community and it was a real blast. Whilst Fydell House is closing for a years renovation we are still meeting up, so if you are interested please let us know and we can arrange for you to visit our meetings to see if its something you would like to get involved in. We really could do with more members. Even if you only want to help at our events.
