Fydell House volunteer

When I first came to Boston I was walking around the market place and South Street with my friends and we walked into Fydell house. I had researched it a little before I came and we were given a warm welcome by Sue and a free tour of the house and left to wander the wonderful garden. My old school friend pushed me forward and said I would volunteer there. I was a bit nervous and took a few weeks to get myself together but I am so glad I did.

I volunteer when ever for the hours I want or can manage that month. It's great to get to know other local people and I love showing people around the house. I have dyslexia and suffer using the wrong words sometimes a little anxiety I guess. But i have gained so much from this volunteering and experience and I created a little information book with pictures on and the dates and facts I try to give the visitors.

I gain so much from this just talking to others. I enjoy getting to know other facts people tell me. It's so worth it. Give us a try in 2026 when the house will have been renovated but do get int touch before!
