SUSPENSION AND TYRE DAMAGE
by paulmabbo, over 3 years agoI HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO AVOID POTHOLES DUE TO NARROW ROADS AND ONCOMING TRAFFIC.MY GARAGE HAS JUST DONE A ROUTINE SAFETY CHECK ON MY CAR AND FOUND THAT THE FRONT NEARSIDE DAMPER AND TYRE NEED REPLACING AT A COST NEARLY £500.00
SURELY IT MUST BE CHEAPER FOR THE COUNTRY TO REPAIR ROADS THAN REPAIR CAR DAMAGE??
DAMAGE TO CARS BY NOT REPAIRING THE ROADS MUST BE COSTING THE COUNTRY BILLIONS!!

by PaulHirons, over 3 years agoI have had to have the front suspension on our car repaired several times because of the potholes on the back roads in Skegness. by 205km, over 3 years agoThis year our road got resurfaced and now the road is in a worse state then before. The used the black sticky stuff and the just dumped loads of lose gravel on it. 6 months later lose small stones are still coming of this road and the old road surface is coming through in patches. I wish they had not bothered with it. The speed bump did not get treated at all. The pavement got also treated with some black paint like stuff. They hadn’t even bothered to brush the leaves away and painted the stuff straight over it and... Continue readingThis year our road got resurfaced and now the road is in a worse state then before. Roads are a disgrace
by Dumbo, over 3 years agoWe visit France and Spain at this time of year to family we have. There roads are perfect but ours are a disgrace. Surely the Council can get some tarmac and fill in the pot holes. Last year my husband got some from Wickes and fill ours in on the road. You only need one man with a van going around filling them up. Never mind measuring and saying they aren't big enough yet. by Lisa, over 3 years agoI spend alot of my time taking photos of potholes, cracking and sinking of New Road, Blankney Fen. I report them via fix my street to be told no further works need doing. Are you kidding me??Highways come out to have a look and can't believe how quickly the road has deteriorated. The road needs resurfacing as does Blankney Drove its like a roller coaster in some. areas. Metheringham Fen Road has been resurfaced and was nowhere near as bad as New Road. We should not have to put up with roads in such poor condition. Needs sorting ASAP

by andy-c, over 3 years agoI find it bizarre: in Skegness, a nice neat new yellow line was painted along the roadside quite correctly - and across a pre-existing pothole. We now know parking on potholes is restricted.

by IanM63, over 3 years agoAs a resident of Grantham and a regular commuter to RAF Cranwell i have to say that communication between agencies doesnt take place. Example…. Over a period of 5 weeks, the A607 between Belton woods and Barkston was dug up and very nicely resurfaced. 4 days ago roadworks… including digging a massive hole took place…. Why bother?
And as were on the subject….. does anyone from Highways ever drive through Ancaster….. and if they do are they blind or stupid…check out fix my street snd see how many times yhe road has been reported. by Electron7, over 3 years agoThe council are always talking about funding reductions, understandable? Yes of course. Why then is it that what funds are available are being squandered on sub standard 'repairs'. When a pot hole is filled, it is exactly that, it is filled with a bucket of tarmac into the hole which is filled with water and debris, with no edge sealant which means within a month it is as bad as it was. Surely if it was done properly, being dug out filled properly and sealed it would last many, many times longer. Maybe it would take a little longer to...
