    Thank you for your question.

Lincolnshire's district councils all offer a bulky collection service, where they will collect items, including small electricals like irons, from the kerbside. Prices may vary so we recommend checking on your local district council website. Larger retailers may also offer an in-store recycling service for pre-loved electrical appliances.

  • Share Why are so many of the waste disposal options in the County predicated upon private vehicle ownership? We have a climate crisis, an ageing population and traffic congestion issues yet the Council seems to assume that everyone has a car/can drive. Better streetside garbage pickup options are vital. In many other places there are quarterly "bulky waste" pickup days where items can be collected. Here the Council's approach seems to be encouraging flytipping, pushing more cars onto the roads and actively discriminating against those who can't/don't drive or who don't have access to a vehicle. on Facebook Share Why are so many of the waste disposal options in the County predicated upon private vehicle ownership? Could the recycling centres provide a receptacle for soft plastic recycling.

    Wally asked 9 days ago

    Thank you for your question.

We are committed to constantly reviewing the materials that we are able to send for recycling, but we have yet found a sustainable off taker to accept our soft plastics that can be processed for recycling. We will endeavour to keep monitoring recycling opportunities and increase waste streams in the future where is it both practical and offers value for money.

Why is there not a facility for recycling foil blister pill packs?

Tracey Gardner asked 26 days ago

    Thank you for your enquiry.

Plastics are accepted at all Lincolnshire County Council Household Waste Recycling Centres; however, they are placed in the non-recycling container. Blister packs are a combination of plastic and metal that cannot be easily separated to be recycled. This material is sent for energy recovery at the Lincoln Energy from Waste Facility.

We're committed to constantly reviewing the materials that we are able to send for recycling, but have yet found a sustainable off taker to accept our blister packs that can be processed for recycling. We will continue to monitor recycling opportunities and increase waste streams in the future where it is both practical and offers value for money.

    Thank you for contacting us.

We currently have one Reuse shop at the Tattershall Household Waste Recycling Centre which has been open for approximately a year. We continue to monitor and review how this is working to help shape future thinking. We do have Community Repaint stores at all of our sites where residents and community groups can donate unwanted paint and also take paint for free to use in their own projects. We also have a number of smaller reuse and charity initiatives that we are working with and are looking at how these projects can be expanded soon.

    Thank you for your comment.

In the survey we have looked at areas where we have the resources to improve the experience of visitors. Lincolnshire County Council’s current policy is that 95% of all Lincolnshire residents should have access to a Household Waste Recycling Centre within a 12-mile radius, this is currently the case and whilst we appreciate that some residents may want additional recycling centres,  within the current budget, this isn’t something we are able to change. For us to provide this as an option and include this in the survey would be to raise false hope.
