in the summer of 2018, I was approached to organise the competition part of the 2019 Bourne Cicle Festival. Races for both men and women.

I was happy to agree with the role as a volunteer and part of the responsibility was to recruit 150 more volunteers.

Covering a huge area from Bourne and the many villages large and small around the route, a real sense of community and involvement was created with the help of InvestSK and SKDC.

Monthly meetings with councils, safety advisory groups followed.

For a first time event - huge success. The long term vision being to achieve international status in 3 year.

Unfortunately, a change in SKDC Cabinet meant the event met an early demise.
