Volunteering helped my career

Whilst at college I decided to become a volunteer and expand my knowledge of the working world. I took on a role for my local parish council and helped with events such as carnivals, country shows and day to day workings of the council and it's members. This gave me the opportunity to build professional relationships, expand my local government knowledge and build my confidence. This led to me applying/accepting a permanent position at a district council and then a role within Lincolnshire County Council. I loved being a volunteer and met some amazing people who will always be in my life.
