Fix our funds to fix our roads

Council agreed again to fill the pothole in our 2023/24 highways funding from Government. An extra £7m of Lincolnshire’s cash is going into our roads.

Your County Views survey responses, FixMyStreet reports, and this campaign is strengthening the case for fairer funding in Lincolnshire.

If you or local businesses have been affected by poor road conditions, tell us. By talking about the impact the lost funding has on you, we can campaign Government together.

We expect there to be further funding cuts in the years ahead so please join our fight for crucial cash by sharing your stories below.

South Holland District is the forgotten County, the roads have become more dangerous over the years. Lack of Investment the main problem. The area where I live roads are getting passed repair. At one time we were locked in the village with all the roads closed due to the roads being bodged up by contractors. They leave 1 Pot Hole return later in the month to fill another, more money in the Bank. My Concern, who oversees & is responsibly for this? No one seems to take reasonability.

The Bardney Causeway is in a disgusting state the cracks in the road are now vey dangerous, and what has the council done, just put up 40 mph speed limit signs. Are the council waiting for someone else to die before they fix the road. I saw a cyclist get his wheel trapped and was surprised that he did not hurt himself. This road is long overdue a proper repair not jut a bit of tar here and there

Surely roads and maintenance should be a priority in Lincolnshire. Without a decent road system and surface, any vehicle is subject to damage and subsequent costs. Why do we pay council taxes, which are increasing annually.? Those costs should be covering all local aspects.
  • SUSPENSION AND TYRE DAMAGE

by paulmabbo, over 1 year ago
I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO AVOID POTHOLES DUE TO NARROW ROADS AND ONCOMING TRAFFIC.

MY GARAGE HAS JUST DONE A ROUTINE SAFETY CHECK ON MY CAR AND FOUND THAT THE FRONT NEARSIDE DAMPER AND TYRE NEED REPLACING AT A COST NEARLY £500.00

SURELY IT MUST BE CHEAPER FOR THE COUNTRY TO REPAIR ROADS THAN REPAIR CAR DAMAGE??

DAMAGE TO CARS BY NOT REPAIRING THE ROADS MUST BE COSTING THE COUNTRY BILLIONS!!

  • Suspension Damage

I have had to have the front suspension on our car repaired several times because of the potholes on the back roads in Skegness. The roads are a patchwork quilt of temporary repairs. They are a disgrace.
  • Repairs to road are terrible

by 205km, over 1 year ago
This year our road got resurfaced and now the road is in a worse state then before. The used the black sticky stuff and the just dumped loads of lose gravel on it. 6 months later lose small stones are still coming of this road and the old road surface is coming through in patches. I wish they had not bothered with it. The speed bump did not get treated at all. The pavement got also treated with some black paint like stuff. They hadn’t even bothered to brush the leaves away and painted the stuff straight over it and... Continue reading

  • Roads are a disgrace

We visit France and Spain at this time of year to family we have. There roads are perfect but ours are a disgrace. Surely the Council can get some tarmac and fill in the pot holes. Last year my husband got some from Wickes and fill ours in on the road. You only need one man with a van going around filling them up. Never mind measuring and saying they aren't big enough yet. Just fill them in.

  • New Road needs Sorting ASAP

by Lisa, over 1 year ago
I spend alot of my time taking photos of potholes, cracking and sinking of New Road, Blankney Fen. I report them via fix my street to be told no further works need doing. Are you kidding me??

Highways come out to have a look and can't believe how quickly the road has deteriorated. The road needs resurfacing as does Blankney Drove its like a roller coaster in some. areas. Metheringham Fen Road has been resurfaced and was nowhere near as bad as New Road. We should not have to put up with roads in such poor condition. Needs sorting ASAP
