We would really like to hear from all Lincolnshire residents who are facing maintenance and repair issues within their homes and anyone that needs to make adaptations to their homes. That can be either now or in the future.

We want to find out the best ways we can provide support and which services you need to help you with your home improvements. We also want to hear about your experiences around completing work to your home.

The information you provide will help us develop a new initiative called ‘The Lincolnshire Good Home Alliance,’ working in partnership with Lincolnshire Councils.

    We tried to sell our 1930’s semi last year. It fell through because we couldn’t find a new house that gave us the space we have here, but also because of the survey results. Penetrating damp was biggest problem - possibly related to cavity wall insulation, but also definitely related to cracks in exterior walls and lack of soakaway. We have rectified all external problems, using a great local builder who had put up a gatepost for us in the past.   • Finding trusted traders

    I have used online trusted trader type websites to source help for jobs around house. Although these did work out OK, I would be cautious about leaving a bad review in case of repercussions from the trader. As a woman on my own, unfortunately I do have to consider this and wonder if other people have the same worry; reviews aren't a true reflection of work done. I also hired a painter/decorator from the business card he put through my door. I thought the fact he lived locally was a guarantee of reasonable quality work but in fact it was... Continue reading
